Across the Mississippi river - into Missouri at St Louis with the arch, then lots of trees, rocky outcrops and bluffs and the Ozarks with some amazing caves to explore. As he crossed the Mississippi Pierre noted that it was suddenly an hour earlier than it had been!
Into the Ozarks and Pierre finds the caves where the outlaw Jesse James had his hideout....
...and then follows parts of the old Route 66, heading west towards Albuquerque.
After a night-stop at the western edge of Missouri the track cuts through a small corner of Kansas before entering Oklahoma for a day and a half on to Texas and eventually New Mexico. That makes thirteen different States so far! At the New Mexico border Pierre enters yet another time zone, moving his watch another hour earlier.
